The leading brand in green beauty is branching out.
If you haven’t heard about Taiwanese beauty brand O’right, then you’re missing out. In addition to creating an impressive line of beauty products, O’right’s business and products are 100% zero carbon. Yep, in terms of being environmentally conscious among beauty brands, O’right is the gold medal. Literally. They’ve won the top spot at the Sustainable Beauty Awards three years running. With their success and the health of their brand, O’right has decided to branch out to a new territory: Japan.
O’right announced today that they will be opening their first Japanese storefronts in Isetan Shinjuku and Yurakucho Marui on June 10 and June 11, respectively. O’right has been planning this new foray for a little while now, but was stifled by Japan’s state of emergency declaration in response to the pandemic. With that state of emergency lifted, however, they can finally get to business. Japan’s economy is a little worse for wear right now, but their commitment to these new stores shows O’right’s faith that the country can get back on track and be sustainable in the process.
When the first concept stores open, O’right will be offering 2020 limited edition runs of their Caffeine Botanical Scalp Revitalizer. They chose this particular product to act as the hallmark of the new openings because the new storefronts utilize building materials created from spent coffee grounds. How’s that for sustainable? All opening day customers will also be given free samples of O’right’s Hydrating Hand Sanitizer Gel, and there will also be a variety of discounts in place.
Japan has been moving toward more sustainable infrastructure wherever it can; in fact, the planned theme for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics is sustainability. While the pandemic has stymied the Olympics themselves, the message still rings true, and O’right wants to bring whatever bit of sustainability they can to the table.
