It ain’t summer til the sales start.
Amazon has been purposely limiting its stock of nonessential items over the last couple of months due the pandemic. This has been a big blow to a variety of brands and industries, not the least of which being fashion. Amazon usually starts stocking the summer styles a little while before summer starts, but since people haven’t really been making a habit of going outside until just recently, they didn’t really see the point. With the pandemic gradually coming under control, though, people are going to start going out again, which means they’re going to need some fresh looks.
Amazon announced today that they will be holding a Summer Fashion Sale starting on June 22 that will last for approximately a week. The event is intended to help fashion brands big and small get their gears turning again, as well as help Amazon blow through their stock in one fell swoop.
In a statement to CNBC, an Amazon spokesperson said “The Big Style Sale is slated to take place later this month and will include seasonally-relevant deals from both established and smaller fashion brands. We are delighted to help brands connect with our vast global customer base for this event.”
No word yet on which particular brands will be offering discounts during this sale, but Amazon has clarified that even if a particular brand is included in the official lineup, they are more than welcome to discount their brands on their own and ride the wave.
On the subject of sales, the next big Amazon sale, Prime Day, is rumored to have been pushed back to September this year, likely to give Amazon a little extra time to get its stock and shipments sorted.
