Barcelona opera house
After being closed for several months due to concerns surrounding the coronavirus (COVID-19), the Gran Teatre del Liceu opera house in Barcelona reopens their doors for the first concert since the beginning of lockdown. This was one unique performance for an audience of over 2,292 plants in the seats as an alternative live audience.
A string quartet performed “Crisantemi” by Puccini and the performance was via live stream to enjoy at home for unique music experience. The plants came from local nurseries and each plant will be donated to healthcare workers at the Hospital Clinic in Barcelona.
The opera house feels that this unique experience will help bring people closer to nature while enjoying and providing a unique cultural experience for people stuck at home. You can check out the performance above for more.
