Beautycounter will offer their clean products through Sephora.
Beautycounter, an up-and-comer in the beauty product world known for their clean and sustainable products, is getting a shot at the big time courtesy of major beauty brand Sephora. Earlier in the week, Beautycounter announced on their Twitter that they would be collaborating with Sephora for a pop-up display in Sephora’s stores, both physical and digital. Beautycounter’s products will be available on Sephora’s digital storefront in July, and in physical stores in August, though according to Beautycounter, this will be a limited-time offer for this summer only.
Sephora has been boosting the visibility of clean beauty product brands recently, offering over 50 different brands the official “Clean at Sephora” seal if their products are certified clean and selling them in their storefronts. This comes on the heel of a general increase in consumer demand for clean beauty. According to a Grand View Research business study from 2018, the global organic personal care industry could be worth as much as $25 billion by 2025. That’s an incentive Sephora can’t turn down.
If Sephora is looking for sustainable brands, Beautycounter is definitely a top choice. Beautycounter has been a driving force in the clean beauty movement, publishing a list of 1,800 chemicals present in other brands’ beauty products that could be harmful to both people and the environment. They’ve also been lobbying for better consumer safety practices and increased government regulation on the industry.
With Beautycounter’s drive and Sephora’s star power, we could be in for world-class beauty industry team-up.
