This Japanese method of tie-dye is more detailed and intricate for a modern version of tie-dye utilizing string and folding methods. Hold your fabric of choice lengthwise and twist (like wringing out a towel) then coil into a spiral, securing spiral shape with several rubber bands.

This method utilizes black materials instead of white material, so this is a unique alternative for fans of black. You can use any tying technique desired and apply bleach as dye, once the bleach is done setting you can cut ties and add desired colors to sections.

This unique method of tie-dye utilizing ice to create a unique color effect that looks more like a watercolor painting. You’ll prep the cloth as you normally would for any tie-dye design by washing in soda ash and leave a little damp and tie the desired pattern. Set up a baking rack over a deep pan and place your damp cloth in the center, pour ice over the cloth, and start adding powder dye as desired.
