Blood Orange French Mule

This cocktail is a French spin on the classic "Russian" cocktail that was actually invented by an American trying to popularize vodka in the U.S. in the 1940s. John G. Martin acquired an American vodka brand in the U.S. during a time when no one was drinking vodka in the country.
Martin eventually worked with the owner of an L.A. bar, Jack Morgan, who was having trouble selling ginger beer and another businessman who couldn't sell his copper mugs. The businessmen collectively created the Moscow Mule cocktail to market their products and building their popularity.
We celebrate the invention of this cocktail inspired by innovation with a sweet and sour taste incorporating champagne and blood orange.
