Anyone who does nice things for dogs has to be a good person.
David Cherry of Giffnock, Scotland loves to bring his dog Freddie everywhere he goes, including on grocery trips to the local Morrison’s. Unfortunately, due to sanitary reasons, he couldn’t bring Freddie into the actual store, and was required to leave him outside, where it soon began to rain. It is a truly sad sight to see a dog alone in the rain, and one kind soul couldn’t help but do something about it.
Ethan Dearman, a security guard who patrols the Morrison’s parking lot, spotted Freddie in the rain, at which point he took out his umbrella and held it over the lonely dog until his owner came out. Dearman was photographed during his good deed by 25-year-old Mel Gracie, who posted it to Twitter and praised the guard for his kindness. Since Gracie posted the photo last week, it’s blown up with additional words of praise for Dearman. At the time of writing, it has amassed 21.3K retweets and 154.1K likes.
When Gracie asked Dearman about the umbrella, he simply replied “well, you never know how dogs feel about the rain.”
According to Cherry, Dearman’s kindness towards dogs is actually a fairly regular occurrence. He took to Twitter to add his own praise to the pile, thanking Dearman for being so good ot Freddie and his family.
“Thanks to security man [Ethan Dearman] for putting the umbrella over Freddie when it started to rain!” Cherry tweeted. “So kind! He’s always so nice to my brother Stuart, my dad, and our Freddie!”
