See the world from home, and make a grand in the process.
Virtual vacations have been growing in popularity for as long as smartphone cameras have been a thing. As long as someone’s got the pictures or video (or a live webcam) you can see almost any part of the world from the comfort of your living room. While some may argue such a thing kind of defeats the purpose of vacationing, I would counter that laying in bed all day doing nothing is really nice. If you share that sentiment, as well as an affinity for virtual tours, one travel company’s got an interesting proposition for you.
Web travel agency Upgraded Points has a catalog of virtual tours at their disposal, but they’re not quite sure which ones are up to snuff. They need a real travel nut to take on ten virtual tours and tell them which ones are the best. This is why they’re holding a contest/job offer to see who can be their ideal virtual wanderer. Whoever gets the job will need to provide detailed reviews on all ten tours, factoring in things like striking landmarks and whether they’d want to visit in person. Once all ten tours are reviewed, the lucky travel nut will receive a cash prize of $1,000.

According to Upgraded Points, their ideal candidate has “An overall love of travel and culture, a passion for art, exploration, and adventure, and strong attention to detail.” You’ll also need to be able to finish all ten tours by the end of July, and have active Facebook and Twitter accounts. Oh, and you gotta be 18 or older, and be a US citizen/permanent resident.
If you’re interested, submit an application on their website with your information and what you love about traveling. The winner will be selected by June 30.
