DIY Hand Hand Sanitizer with Essential Oils

This DIY tutorial for hand sanitizer spray is a great option for people with sensative skin and will help to keep your hands moisturized and sanitized at all times. This hand sanitizer is great for the whole family. You can also choose which fragrance best suits you with some combination suggestions with essential oils.

Equipment

  • 2 ounce Spray Bottle (preferrably dark-colored glass)
  • Mini Funnel (flask funnel)

Materials

  • 1/2 tsp. Carrier Oil (sweet almond oil, fractionated coconut oil, or jojoba oil)
  • 10-12 drops Essential Oils (customize for your fragrance preference)
  • 1/2 tsp Glycerin
  • 2 tsp. Aloe Vera
  • 2-3 drops Vitamin E Oil
  • 3 tbsps. Alcohol (rubbing isopropyl alcohol over 90% or ethanol over 80%)

Instructions

  • Add the carrier oil to the bottle.
  • Add aloe vera gel and mix together.
  • Add 10-12 drops of essential oils. (Look at the additional notes below for fragrance recommendations.)
  • Add 2-3 drops of Vitamin E oil.
  • Fill the rest of the bottle with alcohol, while leaving room at the top for the spray cap.
  • Screw on the spray cap and shake the bottle to mix ingredients.

Notes

Essential Oils Blends:
Relaxation - 4 drops Tea Tree, 4 drops Lavender, 2 drops Lemon
Bedtime - 4 drops Eucalyptus, 3 drops Rosemary, 5 drops Lavender
Cozy - 2 drops Cinnamon, 2 drops Cloves, 2 drops Lemon, 2 drops Eucalyptus, 2 drops Rosemary, 2 drops Orange
 
It's recommended to use a spray bottle that is made of dark-colored plastic or glass bottle. Shake the spray bottle before use to ensure ingredients are well combined.
