Shea Butter Deodorant

There are few things as unpleasant as sweaty body cavities. It messes up your clothes, and the smell is undesirable. Make yourself some deodorant and keep your skin smooth and clear.

Materials

  • 2 TBSP shea butter
  • 3 TBSP coconut oil
  • 3 TBSP baking soda
  • 2 TBSP arrowroot powder or organic cornstarch, optional
  • essential oils optional

Instructions

  • Place the shea butter and coconut oil together in a mason jar, preferably around a quart size.
  • Fill a small saucepan with water, and place the jar in the middle. Heat the jar over low heat until the butter and coconut oil have just melted.
  • Take the jar off the heat. If you're using the baking soda and arrowroot/cornstarch, add them to the mix now.
  • Mix the jar's contents thoroughly.
  • If you want to change the deodorant's scent, add a few drops of essential oil. Pour the deodorant mix into a glass container for storage. Leave it alone for a few hours so it can harden. You can speed this process up a bit by putting it in the fridge.
  • If you prefer roll-on deodorant, you can pour the mix into an empty deodorant stick after it's cooled. Just be careful not to let it melt if it's hot out!
