Lavender Lotion

I can personally attest to the soothing properties of lavender oil. It's such a lovely, calming scent, and with the added moisturizing benefits of coconut oil, it makes for a fantastic skin lotion.

Materials

  • 1/3 Cup Coconut Oil
  • 2 Tbsp Beeswax 1 2oz bar
  • 5 Drops Lavender Essential Oil

Instructions

  • Melt the coconut oil and beeswax in a double boiler. When it's a single, melted mixture, add the lavender essential oil. Pour that stuff into a bowl, and let it cool completely.
  • Using an electric beater (a hand whisk is also fine), whip the mixture for around 10 minutes. This'll get you a good consistency, and keep the coconut oil fluffy even when its temperature changes.
  • Pour the mixture into a sturdy jar, and you're done. Stored properly, you can keep this stuff for around two months.
