DIY Linen Spray

They offer linen spray that you can buy at a grocery store but most of them contain a lot of chemicals and can be harsh on sensative skin. This DIY recipe is easy to make with household products that will keep you clothing and bedding smelling fresh.

Equipment

  • Spray Bottle (8 oz, preferrably glass)

Ingredients

  • Water (Distilled or Filtered)
  • 1 tbsp. Rubbing Alcohol (Vodka can be used as substitute)
  • 30 drops Cypress Essential Oil
  • 24 drops Lavender Essential Oil
  • 30 drops Fir Essential Oil
  • 36 drops Lemon Essential Oil

Instructions

  • Add the vodka and drops of essential oils into the spray bottle, swirling bottle to combine ingredients.
  • Let the mixture sit in the bottle for 15 to allow ingredients to combine.
  • Add distilled or filtered water, leaving half of an inch from the top.
  • Add the spray cap and shake the mixture to combine ingredients.
  • Shake bottle before each use and is safe for most fabric types.
  • Store in a cold, dry location such as a pantry or below the sink.

Notes

This spray is safe for most fabrics but if you're concerned with delicate fabrics, it's recommended to do a patch test. The alcohol will preserve the spray so you can use it for months without the need to refrigerate.
