Epcot celebrates rich history and heritage
The Walt Disney Imagineers created a more welcoming entrance for Epcot at Walt Disney World including a new fountain installation. The Epcot main entrance plaza was transformed to be more welcoming to park guests including the removal of the “progress walls” to feature more space for guests.
The “progress walls” were replaced by more welcoming features including lush landscaping, planters, pathways, and a new color palette representing newly designated sections within the park. The color palette represents World Celebration, World Discovery, World Nature, and World Showcase.
During the day the iconic Spaceship Earth will remain silver and at night will display the new color palette that will match the new fountain feature in front of the entrance plaza. The new fountain marks a special place in the park as the original entrance that welcomed guests on opening day for Epcot in 1982.
The new fountain feature also has a special sky beam light that can be viewed from outside the park at night along with a colorful matching light show displayed on Spaceship Earth and water fountain feature. The fountain is located perfectly in front of Spaceship Earth with a verticle presence that draws your eyes upwards with the perfect framing view of Spaceship Earth.
